Victorian Aesthetic Gas Lantern
A large glazed brass antique Victorian Aesthetic converted gas lantern with original cast brass ceiling canopy, brass frame, mounts, leaf & finial decoration, 4 original "starburst" cut glass bevelled glazing panels. English 19th century c1870. The later quality cast brass four lamp assembly is from an earlier conversion. One leaf of 24 is missing (see if you can spot it! -see close up photos), excellent condition otherwise. Ready to go; thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished, full rewire including 4 new SBC lampholders and 2 meters fabric flex. Includes 4 candle bulbs. Has a hook for hanging , the canopy covering it will work next to the ceiling or lower. The hook could be changed for a 3/4inch stem as in the original gas fixture. Dimensions in inches/cms; 38"/96cm total drop. 14.5"/36cm max width (not diagonal). 13.8kg.
