Brass Dugdill's Desk Lamp
A good antique Dugdill's brass desk / table / work / task lamp (or portable standard according to an approx 1913 Dugdill's catalogue in my possession - the "daisy joint" or beaded wheel tensioners featured on this lamp don't appear in this catalogue and maybe have been phased out by this point dating the lamp to c1910/Edwardian) matched with a good antique prismatic glass shade. English, c1910. A lovely lamp in excellent condition with knopped stem and a moulded and lobed base (stamped "DUGDILL PATENT"), also weighted with cast iron. Freshly rewired after cleaing / polishing with 3m fabric flex, new BC lampholder, 3amp traditional plug and as a special treat; a vintage ivory coloured egg shaped inline switch ( i don't think it is possible to buy anything as small, neat and elegant as this anymore). Pat tested. Dimensions in inches/cms; 18.5"/47cm to centre of the first central joint. 7.25"/18.5cm arm length (joint centres). 31"/80cm max height (straight up inc. shade). 24"/60cm height with arm at approx 45 degrees upwards. Shade is 5"/13cm max. diameter. 4.75kg. For more / higher res images please see my blog which can be accessed through the news section of this (haes) website.
