Scottish Elm Coffee Table
A beautifully designed and made coffee table having a thick chamfered edge Scottish elm top attached to the tapering and splayed slab maple legs with exposed "butterfly" mortice and tenon joints wedged with walnut, and all solidified by a central bearer. The decorative butterfly joints also help join the top boards together as well as attach the table top to the leg pieces, the walnut wedges tightening the whole joint up. And the whole table is strong, sturdy and in very good condition. Made with fine lustrous woods. c2000. Dimensions in inches/cms; 59.125"/150cm wide by 18.25"/46.25 tall. The top tapers from a max middle depth of 16.25"/41cm to min depth of 15.375"/39cm. The top is 3.3cm thick and chamfered to 1.5cm at the edge.
