Medical Table Lamp by John Bell
An antique medical table lamp by John Bell & Croydon and Arnold & Sons c1930s ( The business dates back to 1798 when John Bell opened a pharmacy on Oxford Street, London and still trading as a pharmacy in W1 today) Excellent quality. Adjustable in height and every angle and position; the central stem rotates and adjust in height, the counterbalanced arm rotates and adjusts the lamp to and away from the central stem, the shade adjusts up and down. The shade is spun aluminium, the arms stems and fittings are chromed bass and the stepped circular vase is cast iron. Retaining original primrose paint (with losses to the labelled shade) No losses or damages. All adjustments work and hold well. Rewired with 3.5meters "misty grey" fabric flex, quality tradirtional in-line switch and bakelite plug and retaining original brass and porcelain ES lampholder. Dimensions in inches cms; Max height is 36.25"/93cm (extended and arm upright) Max height of central stem is 23.25"/59cm. Base diameter is 9"/23cm. Shade diameter is 11"/28cm.
