Magnificent Arts & Crafts Fireplace

A magnificent and very large cast iron Arts & Crafts register fire grate, the panels depicting day and night, summer and winter, life and death, with creatures of the sea and land (Swifts, fish, corvids and seals) and fully leafed and dormant trees.English c1890. With green marble slips and a nickel plated brass repousse frieze. In very good clean and "polished" condition. Third fire bar down has a crack (no need to fix) and a few missing dome headed screws for the repousse panel. Dimensions in inches/cm; 63"/160cm wide by 47.75"/121cm tall (55.5"/141cm x 43.5"/111cm without slips). Repousse panel is 55.5"/141cm wide x 11.5"/29cm tall. Depth is 14"/36cm.
