Victorian Bullseye Glazed Lantern
A late 19th century / Victorian iron lantern glazed with four pairs of red, yellow, green and blue glass bullseyes and punched decoration. A beautifully made piece of tinsmithery. Please note the wirework hanging loop and latch handle. In excellent condition in original or old paint fully cleaned and rubbed down inside and out. All brass finials and bun feet present and firmly fixed. There is one crack in a clear corner glass panel. The lantern was discreetly converted to electric many years ago and has now been rewired similarly with a new bronzed brass cord-gripped lampholder and 1.5meter of bergundy fabric flex. It could be returned to its original state easily. It would work well as a table or hanging lantern. Supplied with an S hook attached to the hanging loop. Dimensions in inches/cm; 17.5"/44.5cm tall. 5.5"/14cm square. For more / higher res images please see my blog which can be accessed through the news section of this (haes) website.
