Pair Arts & Crafts Brass Lanterns
A pair of antique Arts & Crafts brass hexagonal lanterns with original ceiling hexagonal hook plates ( now earthed and bearing a registered design number for 1910 to the back of both) Approx 1910-1920. English (stamped Made In England to the canopies of each, although barely legible on one) Very well made with beautifully designed hanging loops above the baluster stems ( these have a Provisonal Patent number on and open and close to accept a chain ) Now highly polished, reglazed with "imperfect" glass, and rewired with 1meter (exposed) fabric flex and new (British made) lampholders. Come with original unpolished chains (4.5" and 10" lengths) although new solid brass chain can be supplied if required. Minor opening to one corner at base (unlikely to open further as there is a retaining/strengthening wire running internally around the base. Dimensions in inches/cms; 16.25"/41 cms tall to top of hanging loops 9"/23cms max width (8"/20.5cms parallel width) Brass ceiling hook plates are 3.875"/10cms max diameter (3.5"/9cms parallel width) by 2.5"/6.5cms max height.
